Much has happened here since the last posting and we didn’t want to get too far behind here at the website. We’d like to update everyone to read here and re-assure you all… we’re still here.
We’ve suffered some losses this past year and a half, making 2019 a lousy year all around. We lost Skittles, Rascal, Zipper, and Bubbles… and they all passed with different factors and issues one after the other. They were very much loved and it was really sad for us having lost them all within the same time frame. It really sucks to be blunt.
They were all family among themselves genetically and they were part of our family as a whole. I guess that provides a bit of a backdrop here as to why we haven’t been as active socially with the Belle ‘n’ Paws on the usual platforms and why we’ve been sort of absent at the website.
Belle ‘n’ Paws (the cats who name-saked this website) are still with us and still “bright eyed” and “bushy tailed”, (coincidentally what we jokingly have nick named them both).
Let’s not forget Brackers. He’s still as adorable as ever and just as big. There’s an interesting dynamic that has grown between the three of them since we lost the other cats. It’s been an adjustment for all us… and that does mean ALL of us.
Depression shows in cats, and our cats were no different during this time. Brackers was despondent and almost lethargic for months and both Belle ‘n’ Paws had similar behavioral issues. None so much as Brackers. He was the brother to Skittles, Rascal, and Zippy. Brackers was also son to Bubbles. They’ve been together their entire lives. Brackers was devastated when his family departed one by one so quickly.
We haven’t fared much better ourselves. After losing so many of our furry family so close in proximity, the last thing you want to do is get on to the website and start fixing this or that… updating this and that… and then posting on a regular basis. It takes the wind out of your sails and you have little ambition when you’re hit so hard.
However; we’re starting to get back into a website mood here, and posting might be something that happens more regularly. We have a variety of helpful resources and subjects to post. We’re kinda eager to get into some of it.
Please keep checking in our social media accounts and visit us now and again at our website for helpful information on a huge variety of subjects. We will be engaging on several platforms, so keep an eye out for us and please follow us or subscribe if available. Thanks for your continuing support and interest. We very much appreciate your patronage.
On a last note… please support your local animal shelters and animal rescue organizations. These organizations and staff speak for the ones who can’t speak for themselves. They deserve your support.
Looking to rescue a pet? Have a home you’d like to share with a pet? Animal foster organizations are always looking for more homes to place their pets temporarily.
Finally, consider senior pets as priority targets for adoption. There are many reasons for us advocating for senior pets… but we can narrow it down to just seven words…
“Senior pets… still have love to give.”
